The most important thing about books is how many books you should buy.
We at IIT JEE Guidance have seen students buying 10-15 books for each
subject. About the number of books you should buy, we at IIT JEE
Guidance suggest to you that you should buy just 2 books for each
subject, one for Objective questions and the other for Subjective
questions. If you were to buy 10-15 books for each subject, that would
just be a waste of time and money. You would not be able to read each
and every book you buy properly and your concepts would never be clear.
That is why we suggest to you to limit the no. of books you buy to just
2. Also with 2 books, you would be used to the studying methods of that
book. Do study each and every thing from that book and also try to
solve all of its questions. With 10-15 books, such a thing becomes
impossible to do.
The next important thing is which books you should buy. Here we at IIT
JEE Guidance have seen students running after books written by foreign
authors. We suggest that you should not buy books written by foreign
authors to study for IIT JEE. These books are generally of a level
higher than IIT JEE. We still found some books by foreign authors
useful.
